About Us

A Women Led Farming Collective

At Be Local Farms we believe in the beauty and power of community. Farmers spend a lot of time alone and are expected to have all the answers for their small business. Our founder, Amy Henkel, is a local farmer in Boise, Idaho and realized it was time to change this mentality.

At Be Local Farms, we decided to change farming from a solo venture into a team sport. Our farming collective brings together numerous Treasure Valley farmers into one community that shares stories, best practices and a space to enjoy each other’s company.

A strong community with great farming skills and strong connections create fresher, tastier produce and more fragrant flowers. We are stronger together!

If you are a farmer in the Treasure Valley and would like to join us, feel free to get in touch. We would love to hear from you!

β€œAt Be Local Farms we wanted to change farming from a solo and often lonely venture, to a team sport, where everyone is supported and can share best practices, to provide the best produce and flowers to our community.”
